Funerals and Memorials

funeral01Music plays a vital role in funeral ceremonies. It is an important part of celebrating
the life of your loved one. Music is embedded in our souls-stirring up deep memories.Cherished songs/arias can take us back to happy times shared together. Such trigger songs are healing music that connects us to memories of times, people and places connected with your loved one. Healing music helps the bereaved and gives everyone attending a medium that all can share and relate to at the funeral ceremony.

The’ healing’ can be in those familiar songs but also in the healing ‘ministry’of the singer. It has been my privilege as a soprano to seek to touch the bereaved deeply, both emotionally and spiritually through my singing and to be able to be part of the healing process for those bereaved. This has been my experience singing at funerals across the UK as the regular soloist at Holy Trinity Church , Knightsbridge (HTB-Alpha).

The funeral music that you choose as a tribute to and celebration of your loved one is a truly personal choice but I have included here some solo song/aria suggestions.

Healing Ministry

After first auditioning as a young soprano for the organist, Simon Dixon, at Holy Trinity Brompton, Knightsbridge,(or HTB/Alpha course authors), I soon found myself being asked to sing at many communions, funerals and memorial services, either at HTB or a other locations in the UK as my voice seemed to be used by God to bring His presence for healing and comfort.Over the years I have used this gift in many settings in the hope I will be part of a persons journey of relief and healing.

As part of my ministry to the bereaved, I do not charge a fee for singing at children’s and young people’s funerals, understanding such a loss as a parent myself.

More recently, I finished recording an ‘oratorio’ for healing;’The Healing Experience’ for soprano and orchestra by composer and pianist Grenville Richard Harding. This has been performed on Revelation TV and at venues in London.

You can request a copy by emailing me. CDs are £6 including postage. I also give an extra copy for free if you would like to give it to someone needing emotional or physical healing.
